The first time I "met" one of the stars of the series "The Bold and the Beautiful" was on Wednesday March 10, 1993.

On Saturday March 6, there was an announcement in our local newspaper that Daniel McVicar (Clarke Garrisson) would visit Den Haag. It was just a small announcement and they didn’t mention more details. My mother said to me: "Wow, that’s great. Go out to see him" and she phoned the newspaper to get more information.

To be honest, I really had my doubts about this whole thing. I thought it was just a promotion stunt and Daniel wouldn’t show up at all, but I decided to give it a try. The whole thing took place in the center of our city so if he indeed wouldn’t show up, I always could visit the shops there.

But surprise, surprise he really was there and exactly on the time they told us. First he walked up and down the Passage (in the center of our city). A lot of fans and other people followed him and it wasn’t that easy to take some good photos. He was very nice. Even posed with some fans for photos. One of the photos I made was a picture of two girls who were standing next to him. They asked me or it would be possible to send them the photo afterwards. I said: "Sure" and they gave me their names and addresses.

During his visit, Daniel stayed in the "Novotel" Hotel here in Den Haag which is situated in the Passage. After his walk he sat down in the lobby of the hotel behind a table and everyone who wanted (and who didn’t?) got the opportunity to get an autograph of him on a photo, a piece of paper or on whatever you offered him. Of course, there was a whole line waiting, but it was very organized. No pushing, no yelling just fans (most female!) who wanted to share a moment with Daniel. With some people he talked a little longer and I got the impression that he had seen them before.

There was also a TV crew around from our local TV station who filmed everything. When I saw the part of Daniel’s visit later on TV you could see my right arm for a small moment of time. Really something to become famous with!

After that we all left the Novotel Hotel. I never expected then to stay so close to some of the stars of the Bold and the Beautiful. How should I know that that was only the beginning of several other meetings with the stars of the series?

Weeks later I got another surprise. As I promised, I sent the two girls the photo with Daniel. Shortly after that I received a thank you letter from both of them. They loved the picture and they told me that one of them went to school with one of the girls nextdoor when she lived in Den Haag many years go. She lived in the street we are looking at when we watched outside our window. From all the people I saw that day, I only talked with these girls. Isn’t it a small world after all?
